If your looking for a meal to easily feed the whole family then this Sausage pasta bake is a family classic and a great dig in mid day meal that will go down well with the kids.

Because the main ingredient in a Pasta Bake is Pasta (Surprisingly) this hearty meal is going to fill you up for the day. So if you are cooking on a budget this is a great way to feed the family.

I have used Fusilli pasta in this recipe but you could go one step further and make your own Pasta.

    Sausage Pasta Bake

    This pasta recipe is a great little twist on an Italian pasta. We have made it child friendly by adding some sausages to a rich tomato sauce.

    You can use all different types of pasta, Fusilli, Orecchiette, Penne, Ziti to name a few. Or you could make your own pasta.

    You can even make your own Sausages to use in this fun Italian styl Sausage Pasta.

    ingredients

    300 g Pasta
    2 Tins chopped Tomatoes
    250 g Tomato Passata
    1 teaspoon of Lazy Garlic
    6 Sausages
    50 g Parmesan cheese
    50 g Bread crumbs
    Pinch of Chilli Flakes
    2 teaspoons of Thyme

    Cooking Instructions

    1. Get the bread into a processor to make breadcrumbs.
    2. Mix the breadcrumbs in a bowl with the chilli flakes and Parmesan cheese.
    3. Skin the sausages , divide into half and make 12 flat balls.
    4. Cook the sausages in an oven dish with a little olive oils for about 10 minutes.
    5. Meanwhile , put the chopped tomatoes , Passata , Garlic & Thyme into a pan and simmer for 10 minutes.
    6. Cook your pasta , Al Dante for about 10 minutes , drain into a colander and add to the tomato pan.
    7. Mix together well , add the cooked sausages.
    8. Then ladle the mixture into the oven dish that you used to cook the sausages in.
    9. Cover with the breadcrumb & Cheese mix and bake in the oven @ 200 c for about 20 minutes.
